Sunrise on the summits surrounding Aletsch glacier
The first morning light is displacing the blue of the night. The summits of the fourthousand meter peaks Mönch, Jungfrau and Aletschhorn and the peaks more to the west
are already touched by the sunlight.

Our bivouac site was a cold and windy place but it had a nice view.

On top — all alone!
This day we were the only roped party ascending the route, we were slower than expected and reached the summit late.
But it was a remarkable experience staying on the highest peak of Europe — alone, without any jabbering, seeing only your own footprints in the
fresh white summit snow.

Looking around
Behind the Dent du Géant (to the right) the Rochefort-ridge leads to the summits of Grande Jorasses.
Above the rocks on the right side of the Talèfre-glacier (left, following the direction of the Midi-Plan-ridge) you can see
the Dent Blanche and between Aig. de Triolet and Mont Dolent the Grand Combin and the Matterhorn at the horizon. A little bit more right Liskamm
and Monte Rosa are rising into the sky.

Valais Summits: Fletschhorn north face, Strahlhorn, Rimpfischhorn and Allalinhorn,

The Matterhorn, the Weisshorn and after a little gap the snow mountains on the right are Grand Combin and Mont Blanc.

Looking over the upper part of the Aletsch Glacier: At the horizon we see the backsides
of Jungfrau, Mönch and Eiger and just in front the Trugberg surrounded by the glaciers named Ewigschneefeld on the right and the Jungfraufirn on the left, which confluence at
Concordia-place. The mountain-wall on the glaciers right side are the Fiescherhorns of Valais.

The ballroom of the alps: Younger Swiss climbers try to rename it to chill-out arena.
But the Piz Bernina with its Bianco-ridge, the Piz Scerscen and the Piz Roseg with its NE-wall are still very impressing, quite equal what kind of marketing name is used.
